WHAT THE MINERAL WATER SYSTEM DOES FOR YOU:

BALANCES WATER

Tap water and rainwater contain little or no minerals, and is not balanced. Water that has low alkalinity, low calcium levels, and low pH is acidic. It will cause corrosion and damage swimmers' skin, eyes, and hair. In water that has high alkalinity, the high calcium and pH levels will cause scaling of pool surfaces. Add the caustic aspect of chlorine to unbalanced water and it becomes understandable why the pool industry has strongly recommended specific chlorine levels internationally.

Traditional pool maintenance is often just about pH and chlorine level management. While this technique creates clear water, this water is often not balanced. In poorly balanced water, sanitizers are less effective, thereby requiring heavy dosing of sanitizers such as chlorine. High levels of chlorine have detrimental effects on swimmers, pool surfaces and equipment.

With the Mineral Water System, maintaining a stable water balance is easier to achieve because the system is pH neutral, and automatically and accurately meters levels of silver, copper, and zinc ions according to changes in water chemistry. Thus, daily dosing of chemicals, such as chlorine and cyanuric acid (a stabilizer), which alter water balance, becomes a chore of the past.

REDUCES TOTAL DISSOLVED SOLIDS (TDS)

With the ease of maintaining water balance and minimal chemical dosing, the Mineral Water System substantially reduces the build-up of dissolved solids in pool water. Using traditional pool sanitization techniques, the total number of dissolved solids (TDS) more than doubles each year. This increase is due to evaporation and an accumulation of chemicals that are put into the pool. Eventually, pool water becomes saturated and even proper water chemistry will be unable to produce balanced water, necessitating a change of water.

The Mineral Water System helps slow down the build-up of dissolved solids in two ways:

• Requires little or no addition of chemicals, such as chlorine and cyanuric acid (a stabilizer)
• The action of the ionizer helps reduce the total dissolved solids in pool water

EFFECTIVE AGAINST BACTERIA & OTHER MICROORGANISMS

The Mineral Water System electronically releases silver ions into water to destroy bacteria. Silver is a highly effective and efficient bactericide, and is potent even against many microorganisms (e.g. Legionella Pneumophila) that are resilient to high levels of chlorine.

Unlike chlorine, the silver ions produced by the Mineral Water System are not depleted by sunlight, suntan oils, or temperature. In fact, the bactericidal effect of ionization is actually enhanced by sunlight and high temperatures. The system, therefore, provides an extremely stable sanitizer residual that lasts for weeks.

ELIMINATES ALGAE

The Mineral Water System electronically generates minute amounts of copper ions for eliminating algae. Though an essential part of our daily diet, the amount of copper ions released is less than a quarter of the permitted level in drinking water.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?

Because the ions produced by the Mineral Water System are pH neutral and will not affect water balance, periodic water testing and occasional oxidizing are all that is needed for pool maintenance. The system maintains superior water quality using a minimal halogen level.

In a chlorine-free pool, you will need to oxidize occasionally to break down excess organic debris from suntan oils, rain, leaves, etc. Using a non-chlorine oxidizer or even household bleach allows you to swim shortly after application.
